After 6 gruling months of being mucked around and running into dead ends the car is finally finished (kinda, side skirts to finish it off).
I’d like to thank the following people in no particular order for helping me get the 86 to where it is now.
Voda (VT Production)
Brendan
David/Kneel/Richard
Shanon & Walter
If you ever need panel and paint work without being mucked around, nor charged an arm and a leg. For the love of god, please see Voda @ VT Production (0210782753) – I assure you of his workmanship. It’s top notch!
Heres some teasers, photoshoot when the weather clears up and I fit up the side skirts

Went around to have a look at the AE today for the first time since it had been painted and damn its looking good. Really shows the pearl in the sun. Voda was getting onto cutting and polishing it back as the paint has hardened now and damn its a lengthy process!
1. Wetsand entire car with 1000grit
2. Buff with Cutting Compound
3. Buff with Polishing Compound
4. Buff with Glazing Compound
In a month or so i’ll do a full 3 stage clean, polish and wax again to finish it off.

Soo shiny!

The bodys painted! What do you think?
After buying the Grandprix White I figured that white has been done to many times before as well as red, black, green etc. The only brown ae86 I can think of is Reo’s old Levin Notch, however that is more caramel and non metallic.
It’s a custom mix which me and VT decided on and it looks simply stunning! The pictures do not do it justice. It goes from a really dark chocolate brown then shines through to a gold/bronze colour in the light. In total it uses about 500+grams of pearls so the colour is really deep. The clearcoat is from a top notch brand and will shine way more with a good wax once its hardened.
Bumpers, mirrors, handles and spoiler are still to be painted so the car will most likely be ready for action in the next few weeks while the paint cures.
What do you think? Yay or Nay?

It’s time to paint!
No pictures of the final product yet so be patient and stop whining, heres a few teasers to keep you occupied. Thanks to waltDOG JDM Subaru Tuning House for providing a place to paint and leaving the RS outside in the blistering cold and wet weather to rust up like a Toyota – Big Props Cuz.

Day 4 and the shell is starting to look like it’s making progress.
Apparently there was 8 layers of primer and paint to sand through to get back to bare metal and it all needed to go. Doesn’t look like it will be ready for spraying this weekend as theres still quite alot of prep to do (sand, prime, block/sand, mask and spray). No rush as i’ve broken my ankle and can’t drive it for another 6-8 weeks anyway
Also managed to swap my Origin kit for a factory facelift AE86 Levin front/rear bumpers to make the car look original again – yay!
Thanks Voda for all your efforts in getting this ready so quick!
And some pics….
